Corizon Health realizes that most of us spend more waking
hours at our job than we do at home. With that in mind, “work” should be more than just a place to go each day.
One of our fundamental goals is to equip patients with the tools they need to reenter their communities and become contributing member of society, but in order to do that we must take care of ourselves… And have fun!
Corizon employees across the country are encouraged to participate in activities to keep themselves at their best! Among other things, we often participate in walks/runs, do “FITGO” challenges, have lunch break walking groups and Corizon team sports. Team Corizon recently sponsored a companywide Biggest Loser contest. Congrats to Krystal Houston, our Director of Nursing at the Jefferson City Correctional Facility.
Let’s face it, most people spend more waking hours with their coworkers than they do with their families. Realizing that, we strive to make sure our employees are in a cohesive team environment. Many of our locations do things like scavenger hunts, or a Polar Bear Plunge, or Insane Inflatable Run, or even department potlucks. We believe to truly function as a team, it helps to get to know your coworkers, beyond just what they do in their respective locations or departments.
Corizon Team members are proud to give back to our communities! Over the years, we’ve partnered with many charities, doing things like prepping food for cancer and aids patients, serving at soup kitchens, raising money for a charitable cause, and having school supply drives, to name a few. There is a level of reward in having the chance to help another human being. Many of our employees entered the healthcare field, because of their desire to give back. We foster this approach and encourage our team members to be involved in their communities.
